Colorful Leopard: 10.5.3 Breaks “Sites” Folder

Some of you may have notices that Mac OS X 10.5.3 introduced a new “Sites” folder icon. Unfortunately, for those who use Colorful Leopard, this creates the inconvienience of having to re-install the Colorful Leopard “Sites” folder. Here’s how:

  1. In the Finder, navigate to Your Computer > System > Library > Core Services > CoreTypes.bundle
  2. Right click on the bundle and choose “Show Package Contents.”
  3. In the resulting window navigate to Contents > Resources.
  4. Now drag the Sites folder from the Colorful Leopard disk image to this folder.
  5. Click “Authenticate,” “Replace,” and enter an admin’s username and password.
  6. Log out and back in, and you should be done!

Yeah…..still working on getting around to buying Leopard :D

BTW Adam, you might want to consider moving The Calvin and Hobbes Album to your new domain. I just checked it today for the first time in a while and Freewebs has a giant Google ad at the bottom of the page now.

Yeah, Mike, I know, but I don’t pay any attention to that site anymore. And Get Leopard Already! :P Sooo much better than Tiger.

I’m waiting to get a new Mac before I make the jump. The one I have only has 512 MB ram. I’m planning on getting a MBP when I can.

RAM is cheap and easy to upgrade… if you think it will be any length of time before you get that MBP, I’d consider bumping your RAM to 1 GB at least.

Yeah, I put 4 GB of RAM in my MacBook for $80
