I proposed a redesigned version of Spotify for Mac in an exercise in user-interface and experience design. I found the current app too focused on impersonal radio and shuffle features, hiding personal libraries, despite being a fantastic service that allows you to play music just as if it was in your personal iTunes library.
My solution polishes up the interface to feel like a first-class Mac application, surfaces personal features and workflows, while still promoting the radio and social aspects, which are Spotify’s main revenue streams.
To present my redesign, I created an interactive and immersive web presentation with gorgeous high-resolution screenshots and concise, punchy explanations of the problems, and the solutions I envisioned.
The website leverages the latest HTML and CSS technologies as well as jQuery for the interactive before and after comparison.
